During the month of  January I came across Studioworks Creative Academy through a dear friend that recommended it to me. Her excitement was so contagious that I went to check it for myself. She was right! Ivy Newport has put together a great opportunity. For $19 USD per month you receive a creative membership with  unlimited access to all the classes Ivy has on her website, the new classes to come and also a  beautiful magazine with amazing content.

As an introduction to her new magazine “Studioworks Journal” Ivy provided a preview. Well I was so excited to take a peek and she did not disappoint me with the amount of visual content that she had included. Every article has been crafted with care and in a way that  sparks your own creativity from the beginning.

The richness of articles, videos and the creative prompts offered is what propels you to learn and to investigate. I do not have a lot of time on my hands as I have a family to care for and I work full time, but the ideas that Ivy has shared do not take a long time from your daily routine. I worked on one page one day, created half of a page the day after and by the end of the week I had worked on four pages.  I can definitely say that the magazine looks very professional with beautiful pictures and the topics given correlate to each other.

That was the first time I visited her website and the first impression I got is that it is easy to navigate. I carefully  looked at all the classes displayed and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she has brought together many different artists that share their creative method. Each of them with a different style and a their own artistic approach. The range of classes allows you to use different mediums and if you want to experiment I think this is a good place to start. If you want to have a taste as to how the classes are structured, Ivy gives you the opportunity to enjoy some mixed media art lessons for free when you join her creative community. You just need to sign up with your email address.

I wanted to share with you that I became a Studioworks member and I am very excited as I know I will keep learning and find new ways to express myself.
